Step 1: Click and open Facebook Messenger. Usually, you get it on the home screen or in the app drawer.

Step 2: Select a contact from the list with whom you want to do a video call. To search the contact, you can use the search box at the top of the screen. The contacting person is online or not indicated with the small green circle along with the name.

Step 3: Start a video call by clicking the video camera icon. Your device is connected to the camera. Wait for the call to be answered to start using filters.

Step 4: Tap the Raindrop tab to approach color and lighting filters. Scroll the options to apply the filters in real-time. You have a striking video chart with filters. The person you are chatting and calling with on the other side can access your chosen filter.

2. Use Facebook Filter Effects in Pictures/Videos

You can also use Facebook Filters that are available on Facebook camera to alter your images or videos without using and editing software.

Step 1: Install the messenger app on your device and sign in to your account.

Step 6: In the end, tap on Share Now to share the Facebook video or image with applied filters.

In some cases, you find that Facebook Messenger call filters are not working correctly, and there are several ways to solve that problem.

1. Permit Messenger to access your camera and microphone

Permit Messenger to access your camera and microphone, go to Settings > App>Messenger and allow Camera and Microphone on your handy device.

2. Check your Network Connection

The problem may be in your network connection. Go to Settings>Backup and Reset>Network Reset Settings. There click on the Reset Settings button, connect back to Wi-Fi, and try video calls again.

3. Re-login to the Messenger App

Sometimes, your Messenger app does not respond. Go to Settings>Apps>Messenger app. Tap on Storage and select on Clear Cache. From there, you can run the Messenger app and log in again.

4. Reinstall Messenger App

If the above ways do not work, uninstall the messenger app on your device, reinstall, and log again into your account.
